Things you need to know
Autumn Term Information
At the start of this half term, we begin by supporting the children to settle in to their new environment and operate confidently within its boundaries. The adults within the setting will spend lots of time playing with your children and getting to know them. Although the children have a base class (Larks and Sparrows) for the majority of the day we work as a unit so the children will access both classrooms and the outdoor area. This half term our theme will be Superheroes and lots of learning will be based around the book: Supertato
In addition to our theme, we will be using the story The Colour Monster to learn about how to manage our feelings.

Milk and Snack (Government provided)
The children are provided with a free daily snack (fruit/vegetable)
Children under the age of 5 are also entitled to a free carton of milk every day. Once your child turns 5 they are no longer entitled to free school milk.
Wellies
Please can you send your child into school with a named pair of wellies to remain at school for the year.
Reception Statutory Baseline Assessment
From September 2021, it is a legal requirement that all children participate in the government’s baseline assessment within the first 6 weeks of starting reception. The purpose of this is not to judge your child and your child cannot pass or fail the assessment. The main purpose is to create a starting point to measure progress of the school from Reception to Year 6. The assessments are carried out through short practical activities and your child will not be aware they are being assessed.
