Our purpose of study for PSHE
Here at Little Paxton, through our detailed and thorough PSHE curriculum, we strive to give children the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to lead confident, healthy and independent lives.
Our curriculum aims for PSHE
In order for our children to become successful learners in PSHE, we encourage and help develop the children’s lifelong strategies, which will positively affect their happiness levels and give them the skills they can then apply to all aspects of their lives.
Our content for PHSE
Using the KAPOW scheme of work, we teach age-appropriate PSHE lessons from EYFS all the way through to Year 6 and we strongly believe that PSHE – although not statutory – is an important and necessary part of the children’s education.
Our PSHE curriculum is divided into a number of topics which the children will build on each year, these are:
- Family and relationships
- Health and wellbeing
- Safety and the changing body
- Citizenship
- Economic wellbeing
- Identity
The children represent these topics through a variety of styles including posters, letters, drawings and role play.
