On Monday 17th March, a group of our talented Year 5 and Year 6 pupils represented the school at the Hunts School Partnership Bee Netball Tournament — and what a fantastic afternoon of sport it turned out to be.
The team made an outstanding start, opening the competition with a dominant 5–0 victory. Their second match brought a tougher challenge, and although they were narrowly defeated, the children showed impressive determination and defended brilliantly throughout.
They bounced back immediately with a confident 4–0 win in their third game, followed by a hard‑fought draw in their final pool match. These results placed us 3rd in our group, earning the team a place in the 3rd‑place playoff.
The final match was incredibly tense and competitive. Our players battled for every ball and even scored what looked to be the winning goal, only for it to be disallowed due to a foot fault. The game ended in a 0–0 draw, meaning the team finished the tournament joint 3rd overall — a fantastic achievement.
Every child demonstrated resilience, teamwork, and skill across all their matches. Their encouragement of one another and their positive attitude made the school incredibly proud.
Well done to the whole team — you were brilliant!
