The Little Paxton girls’ football team showcased grit and determination at the HSSP Girls Futsal Competition, battling through tough fixtures to secure a well-deserved bronze medal.
Group Stages:
The first game saw Little Paxton face off against Bushmead Primary School in a challenging opening match. Despite their best efforts, the girls fell to a 3-0 defeat against a strong opponent.
Determined to bounce back, Little Paxton regrouped for their second match against Warboys Primary School. In a tightly contested game, a decisive goal saw them claim a hard-earned 1-0 victory, with the team demonstrating resilience and teamwork.
In the third group-stage game, Little Paxton went head-to-head with Ramsey. Despite a valiant effort and a competitive match, Ramsey emerged with a 2-1 win, leaving Little Paxton just short of advancing to the finals.
Bronze Medal Match:
The tournament’s third-place playoff brought Little Paxton up against Crosshall Primary School, and the girls rose to the occasion. They delivered an emphatic 4-1 victory, with standout performances from the team. Penny stole the show with two superb goals, while Amelia and Alice added to the tally with clinical finishes. Tallulah was outstanding in goal, making multiple crucial saves to deny Crosshall and ensure Little Paxton’s commanding victory.
Little Paxton’s spirited display in the playoff secured them the bronze medal and capped off a memorable tournament. The girls can hold their heads high, demonstrating both skill and determination throughout the competition.
