Earlier today, the Paxton Panthers boys team – Ethan, Oliver, Bodhi, Albert, George, Robbie, Evan, Aidan, James, Marcus, Dami and Henry – took part in the quarter finals of the Dickenson Cup. This was the first time the school had made it to this stage of the competition, so the team were excited for this upcoming match against Thorndown Primary School.
The game started with Little Paxton on the front foot and should have scored with one of their first attacks of the game. They continued to attack throughout the first half with Ethan and Evan coming close to opening the scoring. Unfortunately, it was Thorndown that took the lead right before half time with their first shot of the game. The Panthers started the second half well, but another Thorndown attack resulted in another goal for the away team. The boys kept pushing for a goal but they couldn’t break through the tough Thorndown defence. Thorndown made it 3-0 with the final kick of the game.
Well done to all of the boys that took part and those that played in previous rounds of the competition. Congratulations and good luck to Thorndown in the semi-finals.
